Prior to Southern - Hoover is the younger brother of former Lion Kellen Hoover. He comes to Southern after a season at Mid-American Nazarene University. He will be a sophomore at Southern. Last year, Hoover, a right handed pitcher, threw 32 innings and finished the season with a 2-2 record, three saves and a 4.78 ERA, while striking out 31 and walking just 17. A native of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Hoover went to El Dorado Springs High School where he was a three year starter on the baseball diamond, while starting all four years in basketball and three years in football.
