Joplin, Mo. -- This weekend's baseball series with Nebraska-Kearney has had two different schedule changes due to the snow and ice that came through the Joplin area this week, but the field was just not playable today and the weekend series has been cancelled.
Originally scheduled to play a single game Friday and then a double-header on Saturday, that was pushed back to games on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday proved to be too cold to play and the games were pushed to Sunday, but the field was not playable as of this morning and the weekend series was scrapped.
The Lions will get back into action on Wednesday with a double-header at Central Oklahoma. First pitch in game one is slated for noon.
