Wagner and Wilson named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern seniors Will Wagner and Thomas Wilson have both been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and Capital One.

To be named to the list, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA and participate in at least half of the team's contests. The Lions are part of District 7, which includes schools in the MIAA, Great American Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The duo is part of six MIAA student-athletes that are on the list as the conference has the most members on the team.

Wagner currently leads the Lions in both home runs (7) and RBIs with 35, while hitting .321 on the season. Wilson is fourth on the team in hitting with a .329 mark and he has eight doubles, a home run and 23 RBIs, while going 10-11 on the basepaths.

Wagner currently maintains a 3.80 GPA in criminal justice, while Wilson has a 4.00 GPA in psychology. The pair will have their name go on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.
