Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern department of athletics, in cooperation with the athletic department at Lindenwood University, have mutually agreed to cancel the game between the two schools originally scheduled for November 2.
The game, Southern's Homecoming, was originally postponed after the tragic death of offensive line coach Derek Moore.
No make-up date will be played between the two schools and the Lions are not looking to fill the date.
The Lions, 6-3 on the season, will finish up the 2013 regular season next weekend at Pittsburg State University for the annual Sonic Miners Bowl. Kickoff from Carnie Smith Stadium is slated for 2 pm.
