2014 - Benner started all 11 games at center for the Green and Gold... Benner helped Southern reach 2954 rushing yards on a school record 618 carries and 39 rushing touchdowns... Received All-MIAA Honorable Mention.

2013 - Starting all 10 games at center for the Lions as a junior, Benner helped Southern set school records for rushing yards (3,684), rushing touchdowns (42) and carries (597).

2012 - Starting all 11 games at center for the Lions, Benner helped Southern rush for a school-record 3,043 yards on the ground averaging 5.2 yards per carry and an average of nearly 277 yards per game on the year. 

2011- Starting the last 6 games of the year at center for MSSU, Benner helped pave the way for a strong Lion rushing attack in 2011. 

Prior to Southern - A teammate of both Greg Harris and Shane Hartzler, 2010 Lions signees, Benner played for coach Greg  Jones at Kearney HS … Benner was part of a Missouri Class 4 State Championship as a junior and as a senior he had 40 pancake blocks on the O-line and graded out at an 87% for the season … he was a unanimous All-Conference selection and a first team All-State pick … undecided on his future major, Benner is the son of Bruce and Angela Benner.
