2014 - Matlock started all 11 games for the Lions... Finished the season with 61 tackles (39 solo, three for loss), three forced fumbles, two interceptions, and 10 pass deflections... Had an interception in back to back games against Lindenwood and Pittsburg State... Against Central Missouri, tallied a season high 9 tackles with six solo tackles... His lone sack of the season came against Northeastern State... Blocked an extra point in a win over Northwest Missouri... Finished fifth in the MIAA in passed defended with 12 (10 pass breakups and two interceptions)...

2013 - Started all 10 games at cornerback for the Lions as a junior, Matlock tied for 14th on the team in tackles with 17, including 14 solo...Tied for the team lead in pass breakups with 10 while notching a one interception and a sack for a loss of eight yards on the year.

2012 - Started all 11 games at cornerback for the Lions as a sophomore, Matlock finished tied for seventh on the team in total tackles with 32, including 22 solo. Also had three pass break-ups, a interception, a forced fumble, a blocked kick and half a tackle for loss on the year. Had a season-high 9 tackles against Northwest Missouri. Returned interception in season-opener at Central Oklahoma 25 yards while blocking a kick against Southwest Baptist.

2011- Appeared in all 10 games for MSSU as a true freshman, with 8 starts, Matlock finished fifth on the team in total tackles with 51 (35 solo), 8 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception.  Had a season-high 11 tackles vs. Missouri Western.

Prior To Southern - Matlock played for coach Barry Norton at Texas HS … As a senior, Matlock was a first team All-District pick, as well as the Texas HS Defensive Back of the Year … A member of the National Honor Society and the Avid Program, Matlock is undecided on his future major at Southern and is the son of Brian Witcher and Nancy Matlock.
