Joplin, Mo. - Missouri Southern men's basketball Robert Corn has announced the signing of high school guard Andrew Ballock in the early signing period for the 2014-15 season.
A 2014 graduate of Eudora High School in Eudora, Kansas, Ballock is a four-year letter winner on the hardwood for the Cardinals and head coach Kyle Deterding. A 6-2, 172 pound guard, he has earned all-league, all-area and all-state honorable mention honors in his prep career.
In addition to being a four-year starter in basketball, Ballock has also excelled in football as he has been a four-year letterwinner on the gridiron earning all-league, all-area and all-state honors as a defensive back while helping lead the Cardinals to the 4A State Championship game twice. Finally, Ballock has earned two letters in track and field competing in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.
The son of Don and LaDonna Ballock, Andrew is undecided on his major at Southern.
"Andrew is a kid we targeted early as a kid we wanted in our program," said Associate Head Coach Jeff Boschee. "He is very versatile at the guard position with ability to handle the basketball, creating for others and also being a scorer. Andrew comes from a great High School program and great AAU program (KC Run GMC). We are looking forward to having Andrew as a Lion."
