Men's basketball earns three seed in NCAA Central Regional

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's basketball team won the 2014 MIAA Basketball Tournament this afternoon and earned the third seed to the NCAA Division II Central Regional which will be hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato this weekend. 

The Lions will face off against sixth-seed Fort Hays State on Saturday, March 15. Times for the games are not yet announced. The Lions lost to the Tigers in the only meeting this season at home to the Tigers, 76-67 on January 4th. 

Minnesota State is the No. 1 seed and will face Harding, champion of the Great American Conference. Central Missouri is the No. 2 seed and will take on Arkansas Tech from the Great American Conference, while No. 4 seed Winona State will take on No. 5 seed Northwest Missouri.
