Southern golf in 10th place after day one at PSU Invite

Pittsburg, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in tenth place after day one of the Pittsburg State Invitational held at Crestwood Country Club. The event is the first MIAA Points Event of the season. 

The Lions had two teams in the tournament, one placing tenth and the other 11th after day one. 

On the MSSUA team, Chris Moudy was tied for 15th overall with a first-round 78, while Ryan Russell finished with a 78. Kaleb Forkner had an 83, while Adam Johnson finished with an 84. Jared Essary was disqualified, but will be eligible for tomorrow's final round. 

The MSSUB team was led by Fabian Oechsle with a seven-over 79. Patrick Holt carded an 82, while Tyler Maggi and Jamie Newman had 84's. 

The Lions will finish up the tournament tomorrow with a final 18 holes of golf.
