Lions golf finishes in 8th at Washburn Ichabod Invitational

Topeka, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern golf team struggled today in the final round of the Washburn Ichabod Invational and the Lions finished in eighth place overall as a team. 

Southern was in second place going into today's final round after shooting a 300 in the first 18 holes yesterday. The Lions shot 319 today, as a team, and slipped six spots. 

Ryan Russell led the Lions and finished with a two-day 152, tying for 17th place individually. Ben Knight shot a two-day 154, while Jared Essary finished with a 157. Gill Williams finished with a 159, while Adam Johnson and Fabian Oechsle shot a 160 and 163, respectively. 

The Lions will be back in action next weekend, taking part in the 2012 MIAA Championships at Paradise Point in Smithville, Mo.
