Tahlequah, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern golf team finished in 15th place today after the final round of the Northeastern State Fall Classic held at Emerald Falls Golf Club in Talequah.
The Lions were led by Andrew Maier as he turned in a two-day 154 to finish tied for 36th. Ryan Buerk shot a 158, while Ben Starkey and Andy Hogenmiller finished with totals of 161 and 164, respectively. Gill Williams shot a two-day 171.
Southwestern Oklahoma State won the team title with a two-day total of 589. Washburn was second followed by Newman, Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma to round out the top five. Arkansas Tech was sixth, followed by Northeastern State, Harding, Southeastern Oklahoma, Pittsburg State, Lindenwood, Missouri Western, Lincoln, East Central, Missouri Southern, Henderson State, Fort Hays and Southwest Baptist to round out the team scores.
The Lions will be back in action on October 1st and 2nd playing another MIAA points event at Lindenwood.
