2012-13: Playing in five of the Lions ten events as a junior, Russell finished the year with an average round score of 77...had his best finish of the year at the First Federal Bank Invite hosted by Henderson State at Branson Creek GC as he was the Lions top finisher tying for 7th place overall carding a two-round score of 147 (+5) with rounds of 75 and 72 as the Lions finished fifth as a team...Helped the Lions finish 8th as a team at the MIAA Championships hosted at Paradise Point as he was the second-lowest Lion tying for 24th place overall carding a two-round score of 151 (+7) with rounds of 76 and 75...Tied for 21st place overall at the Missouri Southern Invitational hosted at Twin Hill GC carding a two-round score of 155 (+11) with rounds of 83 and 72 as the Lions finished 7th as a team.
2011-12: Played in 20 rounds for the Lions...finished the year with an average round score of 80.3...had his best finish at the MIAA Championships where he tied for 8th place carding a three-round score of 225 (+9) with rounds of 77, 74 and 74 helping the Lions finish sixth at the championships...tied for 17th at the Washburn Ichabod Invitational with a score of 152 (+10)....tied for 37th at the Southwest Baptist Invitational with a score of 158 (+14) with rounds of 80 and 78.
Prior to Southern: Spent 2010-2011 at College of the Ozarks where he played baseball for the Bobcats....named a white scholar student athlete.
