2012-2013: Playing in eight of the Lions ten events of the year as a freshman, Starkey was the Lions top finisher at Southern's season-opening meet the Missouri Intercollegiate tying for 6th place overall in the three-round carding a 227 (+11) with rounds of 75, 76 and 76 to help the Lions finish third overall...Was the Lions second-highest finisher tying for 18th place overall at the Lindenwood Invitational carding a two-round 155 (+11) with rounds of 76 and 79 at the MIAA Points Event...Helped the Lions finish 5th place as a team at the First Federal Bank Invite hosted by Henderson State at Branson Creek GC tying for 24th place overall carding a two-round score of 153 (+11) with rounds of 76 and 77...Tied for 53rd place at the MIAA Championships hosted at Paradise Point in Smithville, Mo. carding a two-round score of 160 (+16) with rounds of 85 and 75.

Prior to Southern: A four-year letterwinner at Webb City High School for coach Wayne Smith, Starkey was a three-time state qualifter (2009,10,11), three-time all-conference selection, two-time all-district (2010,11) and sectional champion as a junior in 2011.

Personal: Mother and father both graduated from MSSU....brother, Bart Jr. is a sophomore linebacker on the football team....Ben is undecided about his future major at Southern...born March 3,1994..
