St. Cloud, Minn. -- The Missouri Southern golf team improved its day one total by 14 strokes and finished eighth at the St. Coud State Husky Invite today held at St. Cloud Country Club.
Southern shot a 301 as a team today as three separate Lions shot under 75 on the day. Sophomore Ethan Hutcheson had the low-round of the day, shooting an even par 72 to finish with a two-day total of 153, finishing tied for 23rd.
Freshman Taylor Lansford, however, had the best two-day total of any of the Lions as he shot a two-over 74 each day to finish tied for sixth place with a 148 total.
Bemidji State took the team title, winning by 14 strokes over second-place Concordia-St. Paul. Winona State was third, while St. Cloud State's A team was fourth. Lincoln finished fifth, followed by Minot State, Minnesota State, Southern, Manitoba and Minnesota-Crookston to round out the top ten.
The Lions will be back in action on September 30th when they travel to Kingston, Okla. to compete in the Texoma Championship held at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Resort.
