Southern golf in 11th place after two rounds at Jim Bishop Toyota Classic

Muscle Shoals, Ala. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in 11th place after 36 holes played at the 2014 Jim Bishop Toyota Classic hosted by the University of North Alabama on the Fighting Joe Course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. 

Ryan Buerk shot the low-round of the day for the Lions as the junior shot a 79 in round one and a 74 in round two to finish tied for 18th with a 153. Senior Andrew Maier shot a 76 in round one and a 79 in round two to finish with a 155 and tied for 29th. 

Senior Ryan Russell shot a two-round 158, while sophomore Ethan Hutcheson and freshman Taylor Lansford shot a 161 and 163, respectively. 

Missouri-St. Louis holds a first-round lead in the team competition, three strokes in front of Central Missouri for second place. Arkansas Tech is third, tied with North Alabama, while Henderson State is fifth. Delta State is sixth, while Wallace State Community College, Central Alabama Community Colllege, Wilmington (Delaware) and Lee University is tenth. 

Southern is 11th, followed by Lindenwood, Harding and West Alabama to round out the team scores. 

The Lions will finish the final round of the tournament with an 8:30 am tee time.
