Southern men's cross country competes at prestigious Chili Pepper Invite

Fayetteville, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country program finished 34th out of 50 teams today at the University of Arkansas Chili Pepper Invite in Fayetteville. 

Southern was led by freshman Viktor Kuk as the German placed 90th out of 463 runners with a time of 31:58.49 on the 10k course. 

Freshman Jake Benton ran the course in a time of 33:07.10. while sophomores Andrew Webb and Sam Pogue ran in times of 33:07.10 and 33:39.26, respectively. Freshman Michael Weiss completed the course in a time of 33:55.12, while sophomore Nick Niggemann and freshman Alex Mason ran in times of 34:31.11 and 34:49.56, respectively. 

The Lions will be back in action on November 6 when they travel to Hays, Kan. for the 2010 MIAA Cross Country Championships.
