Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's indoor track and field team competed at the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays today in Warrensburg.
Jerry Jones proved to be one of the busiest Lions competing in four different events and placing no lower than 7th. He was third in the triple jump with a distance of 46-1.5, while placing sixth in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, one inch. He was fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 23:14, while placing seventh in the 60m with a time of 7.17.
In other action, Taylor McClelland was fifth in the long jump with a distaince of 22-3.75, while Clark Tanksley and Jacob Rowe were 9th and 10th, respectively. Roe and Zach Reese placed 9th and 10th in the triple jump.
Seth Matlock was third in the high jump with a height of 6-6.25, while Michael Juergens was third in the pole vault with a height of 14 feet, nine inches. John Lowe and Raymond Woldtvedt placed 5th and 6th in the pole vault, while Jarret Keller and Caleb Carney both placed 10th.
Dustin Roofener was 11th in the 60m dash, while Tyler Burgess was 11th in the weight throw with a distance of 44-3.5. Jazz Allen finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.60, while Juergens, Kevin Wright and Ricardo Greer placed 8th, 9th, and 10th, respectively in the event.
Wright was fourth in the 400m with a time of 51.33 and Tanksley was right behind, placing fifth with a time of 51.62. Reece, Roofener and Khan placed, 10th, 14th, and 17th, respectively in the event.
Brandon Weaver was 14th in the 600 yard with a time of 1:16.78, while Greer and Juergens placed 22nd and 23rd in the event.
The Lions ran two different teams in the 4x400m relay with the team of Tanksley Reece, Allen and Wright placing third in a time of 3:27.24 and the team of Roofener, Khan, Greer and Weaver placing 7th.
Southern will be back in action next weekend, playing host to the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational in the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
