Coleman lands provisional in the shot put
Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern thrower James Coleman picked up a provisional in the shot put as the Lions track and field team competed at both Pittsburg State and the Unviersity of Arkansas.
Coleman, competing at PSU, finished second, but was the top collegiate performer in the event with a provisional distance of 52-6.50. Nick Grosso was ninth in the event with a distance of 47-11.25.
At the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Viktor Kuk was 15th in the mile with a time of 4:17.23, while Jerry Jones and Clark Tanksley finished 15th and 19th in the long jump. Jones jumped to 22-9.25, while Tanksley's mark was 22-6.25.
Southern will finish up its weekend with day two of the Tyson tomorrow.
