Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up three more provisionals today in the final day of the 2011 Radio Shack Invitational at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin.
Clark Tanksley improved his provisional in the high jump, hitting 6-11 to place second, but was the top collegiate preformer. Corey Reynolds was third with a height of 6-6.75, while Seth Matlock placed fifth. Michael Juergens picked up a provisional in the pole vault and placed third as the top division 2 preformer with a height of 16-00.75. Raymond Woldtvedt was fifth, followed by John Lowe, Caleb Carney and Jarret Keller placing 8th, 13th, 15th, and 16th, respectively.
James Coleman won the shot put with a provisional distance of 53-00.25, while Nick Grosso was fourth and Carney placed 13th. In the triple jump, Jacob Rowe placed fifth wtih a distance of 44-09.00, while Jerry Jones was 8th and Zach Reece was 10th. Dustin Roofener was fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.19, while Kevin Wright (8.53) and Ricardo Greer (8.96) placed 2nd and 5th in the hurdles.
Crarney was fourth in the 600 yard run, while Viktor Kuk won the 800m with a time of 1:56.34. Michael Weis was seventh, while Brandon Weaver and Sam Pogue placed 9th and 10th. Wright placed second in the 400m with a time o 51.05, while Reece was fourth, Roofener was 12th, Jacob Khan was 14th and Greer placed 15th.
The Southern 4x400m relay team of Reece, Tanksley, Roofener and Wright placed second in a time of 3:23.32, while the 'b' team was sixth.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend, traveling to Central Missouri to compete in the 2011 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
