Fraley wins 100m at Emporia State/State Farm Relays

Emporia, Kan. -- Missouri Southern freshman Jeff Fraley narrowly missed out on an automatic qualifying time in the 100m dash today, but won the event, as the Lions competed at the Emproria State/State Farm Relays in Emporia. 

Fraley was tops in the prelims and was the fastest man in the finals as he raced to the win with a provisional time of 10.39. He was five one-hundredths of a second from the automatic qualifying time and four one-hundredths off of the school record. 

Taylor McClelland picked up a provisional distance in the long jump with a distance of 23-05.50, placing sixth in the event. Darion Boure and Clark Tanksley tied for seventh in the event. Boure placed second in the triple jump with a provisional distance of 48-08.75, while Jayce Thomas also picked up a provisional with a fourth place finish in a distance of 48-2. 

Tanksley was tenth in the 400m dash with a time of 50.40, while Andrew Webster was 8th in the 1,500 with a time of 4:07.70. Quinton Smith placed tenth in the 400m, while Alex Mason was fourth in the 3k steeple. 

The Lions' 4x100m relay team of Jazz Allen, Fraley, Blake Arehart, and Tanksley placed third and nearly missed a provisional with a time of 41.84. 

Raymond Woldtvedt placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 15-1, while Dustin Green and Seth Hackney placed fifth and eighth in the shot put. Nicklas Polizzi placed fifth in the discus, Green was seventh in the hammer. 

The Lions will be back in action next weekend, splitting time at both Emporia State and Pittsburg State.
