Fraley leads tracksters at Arkansas

Fayetteville, Ark. -- Already holding the second-fastest time in Division II in the 100m, Missouri Southern freshman Jeff Fraley now holds the second-fastest time in the 200m as well as the Lions competed today at the John McDonnell Invitational at the University of Arkansas. 

Fraley placed second in the 200m with a provisional time of 20.90. that time is just .03 off of an automatic qualifying time for nationals. He also placed third in the 100m with a time of 10.67, just .15 off of the leader. 

Also strong at the meet was junior thrower Dustin Green. Green placed fourth in the shot put with a provisional distance of 53-4.25, while placing second in the discus with another provisional of 163-03. Green was fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 171-06, while Nicklas Polizzi placed sixth. Zach Williams placed fifth in the javelin. 

Clark Tanksley picked up a provisional in the high jump with a fifth-place height of 6-9, while Michael Juergens placed sixth in the pole vault. Taylor McClelland, Darion Boure and Tanksley placed 8-9-10 in the long jump, while McClelland, Boure, and Jayce Thomas placed 4-5-7 in the triple jump. 

Sam Pouge placed 16th in the 800m,  while Andrew Webster was 22nd in the 1,500m. Quinton Smith was ninth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.80, while Alex Mason and Colton Wooldridge placed 10th and 11th in the 3k steeple. 

The 4x100m relay team of Jazz Allen, Fraley, Anthony Price and Tanksley placed fourth with a time of 41.82, while the 4x400m relay team of the same four placed fifth. 

The Lions will be back in action on Friday when Southern plays host to the annual Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invitational at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
