Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team is in second-place after day two of the 2013 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships today in Warrensburg.
The Lions go into the final day of the Championships with 46 points, trailing first place Central Missouri by 12 points.
Jayce Thomas started the day placing third in the heptathlon and earning All-MIAA honors. Thomas finished second in the pole vault and third in the 60m hurdles to finish the event.
Seth Hackney placed second in the shot put to earn All-MIAA honors with a provisional distance of 54-11.50. Dustin Green and Evan Moore also had provisionals in the event, placing fifth and sixth, respectively.
Clark Tanksley was second in the high jump with a provisional mark of 6-10.75, earning All-MIAA status, while Darion Boure was third in the triple jump with a provisional mark to earn All-MIAA honors. Thomas was fourth, while Dominique Jenkins placed seventh in the event.
Jeff Fraley qualified for the finals of both the 60m and 200m dash, taking home the top seed in the 200m. Jazz Allen qualified in the 60m hurdles, while Anthony Price and Tanksley both qualified for the finals of the 400m.
Southern will conclude the Championships with the final day tomorrow from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
