Lions pick up two All-Americans in final day of 2013 NCAA D-II Indoor Championships

Birmingham, Ala. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up two All-Americans in the final day of the 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. 

Michael Juergens placed third in the pole vault picking up a personal best height of 16-8.75. He hit his first four heights on the first attempt and led the event going into his final height, earning All-American status in the event. 

Seth Hackney placed seventh in the shot put, with a distance of 56-1, just two inches off of a school record in the event and making him an All-American. 

Jayce Thomas placed ninth in the heptathlon with 5,094 points, less than 100 points from a school record. In the triple jump, Darion Boure finished 11th in a distance of 47-8.5. 

The Lions will open up the outdoor season on March 30 with the Pittsburg State Wendy's Open.
