Pole vaulters highlight PSU Wendy's Open

Pittsburg, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern men's pole vaulters took home six of the top nine spots in this weekend's Wendy's/PSU Open at Pittsburg State University. 

Michael Juergens picked up a provisional in the event with a second place finish and a height of 16-5.5. Raymond Woldvedt was fourth, while Brady Melugin, Zach Bobbett, John Lowe and Jarret Keller placed 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th in the event. 

JJ Jones picked up a win in the triple jump with a distance of 46-7.25, while the 4x100m relay team of Jeff Fraley, Clark Tanksley, Anthony Price and Erron Holley had a provisional and a third place finish with a time of 41.11. 

Evan Moore and Seth Hackney placed second and third in the shot put, while Nicklas Polizzi and Moore placed second and seventh in the discus. Moore was third in the hammer, while Polizzi placed seventh. 

Jayce THomas finished third in the high jump, and was fourth in the 110m hurdles. Jazz Allen was fifth in the hurdles. Andrew Webster, Alex Mason and Colton Wooldridge placed 12th, 15th and 18th in the 1,500m, while Fraley Price and Tanksley placed 3rd, 6th and 9th in the 400m. 

Holley was fifth in the 100m dash, while Taylor McClelland, Tanksley, Tylor Albright, Jones, Darion Boure placed 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th in the long jump. 

Southern will be back in action next Saturday at the Emporia State Invite.
