Southern men compete at MSSU Last Chance

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team took home three titles today at the MSSU Last Chance meet held at Fred G. Hughes Stadium inside the Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex. 

Tylor Albright placed second in the long jump with a provisional of 24-01.00, breaking a school record in the event, previously held by John Buchannon in 1992. Darion Boure was second in the event, tying the previous school record. Taylor McClelland won the triple jump and placed fourth in the long jump, while Jayce Thomaswas second in the triple.

Michael Juergens took home the title in the pole vault with a provisional height of 16-03.50, while Brady Melugin, John Lowe and Raymond Woldtvedt all picked up provisionals with heights of 15-09.75. 

Thomas was second in the high jump, while Nicklas Polizzi won the discus with a provisional distance of 165-03. Evan Moore was second in the hammer, while Seth Hackney won the shot put with a provisional distance of 54-02.50. Moore and Polizzi placed second and fourth, respectively in the shot. 

Southern will now wait until the national list of qualifiers is released this week.
