Men's Cross Country crack the Top 25 National Rankings

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team is back in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's top 25 national poll this week, debuting at No. 25.

The Lions are fresh off of a win at the Jackling Jocks Invite this past weekend hosted by Missouri S&T. Southern had a second place finish from freshman Eric Schott and ran away with the meet.

MSSU also jumped three spots in the South Central Regional rankings this week moving up to fourth. Central Missouri is ranked number one in the region followed by Eastern New Mexico and East Central. Southern is fourth, followed by Northwest Missouri, Pittsburg State, Harding, Southwest Baptist, Cameron and Abilene Christian.

The Lions are off this week, but return to action on Oct. 22 when they play host to the 2011 MIAA Cross Country Championships.
