Men's cross country picked to finish second in MIAA preseason poll
Kansas City, Mo.-- The Missouri Southern men's cross-country team has been picked to finish second in the preseason MIAA coaches poll, announced today by the league office.
The Southern men finished third at the conference championships last fall, behind the University of Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri State.
Checking in atop the coaches poll is the defending MIAA champion Central Missouri, who collected eight of the ten first place votes. With the Lions collecting the other two first place votes, they check in second. Pittsburg State, conference newcomer Nebraska-Kearney, Northwest Missouri, Southwest Baptist, Fort Hays State, Lindenwood, Emporia State and Truman State round out the poll.
The Lions will open up the 2012 season at the University of Arkansas on August 31.
