In 2013: Starting all 50 games at shortstop as a true freshman for Southern, Wood hit .291 on the year collecting 44 hits in 151 at-bats scoring 21 runs while hitting nine doubles, a triple and a home run. Driving in 20 runs and totaling 58 bases, Wood led the Lions in assists with 97 from shortstop. Had a season-high three hits twice on the year in wins over Arkansas-Monticello and Illinois-Springfield while scoring a season-high three runs against the UIS Prairie Stars as well. Drove in a season-high three runs on her first career home run at Washburn.
In High School: Was a four year starter at shortstop and letter winner for Coach Scanland and the Lady Blue jays of Raytown High School in the Kansas City area...earned all-district and all-conference honors all for years while at RHS.
Personal: Majoring in veterinary medicine at Missouri Southern...daughter of Gary and Debbie Wood and is the youngest of three children.
