Lions women's basketball at Divison I San Francisco in final exhibition
Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern women's basketball team will play its second and final exhibition tonight at 9 p.m. against the University of San Francisco in War Memorial Gym.
Opening up their exhibition schedule at home last Saturday afternoon, the Lions fell 65-58 to Livin' The Dream. The Lions were led by junior guard Johnna tenBerge who finished with 13 points, while sophomore guard Nicole Hartzog had 10. Senior forward Erin Rice also had a nice performance finishing the day with eight points and eight rebounds.
Tonight's matchup with the Lions is the Don's season opener. Playing in the West Coast Conference, the Dons are coming off a 5-25 season, finishing 3-13 in the WCC. The leading returning scorer for the Dons is senior guard Mel Khlok, who finished last year averaging 8.0 ppg. Senior forward Bailey Barbour is the top returning rebounder for USF grabbing 4.3 boards a game.
