Lions women's basketball loses exhibition 72-40 at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO - The Missouri Southern Lions women's basketball team lost 72-40 at Division I opponent San Francisco in an exhibition game tonight in War Memorial Gym.

The Lions were led offensively by junior center Shonte Clay, who finished the game with a team-high nine points and six rebounds. Junior forward Dominique Mosley also had nice game finishing with eight points, including hitting six of seven free throws, to go along with a game-high nine rebounds.

Taking a early 3-2 lead on a three-pointer by junior Johnna tenBerge, the lead was short lived for the Lions as the Dons ran away with the game leading by 15 at half and extending that lead to as many as 32 in the second half. The Dons were led by senior guard Mel Khlok who finished with a game-high 16 points.

The Lions kick off things for real next Friday (Nov. 9) when they open up the 2012-2013 regular season vs. Mary (ND) at 1 p.m. in the PSU Tip Off Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
