Austin, Texas. -- Stephanie Heines produced two goals for Missouri Southern, but it wasn't enough to overcome a hat-trick by Sarah Hernandez that propelled the Incarnate Word Cardinals to a 4-2 win Sunday afternoon (Aug. 30) in Austin, Texas.
Hernandez put the Cardinals on the board in the 10th minute of the match by capitalizing on a turnover and scoring from 15 yards out.
The Cardinals suddenly had a 2-0 lead when Hernandez launched a shot from 40 yards away that found the net off an assist from Cassidy Ballantyne at the 14:23 mark.
Hernandez then contributed an assist on a goal from Emily Hernandez that gave the Cardinals (2-0) a 3-0 edge in the 53rd minute of the second half.
Heines brought the Lions (0-2) to within two goals by scoring four minutes later on a free kick from Audrey Copenhaver.
Hernandez completed the hat trick by scoring off a rebound at the 58:32 point of the match that once again put the Cardinals up by three goals.

The Lions will host Rockhurst on Friday night (Sept. 4) at 7 p.m. in their 2009 home opener at Hal Bodon Field.
