Lions' Soccer earns NSCAA Team Academic Award for 5th straight season

Joplin, Mo. -- For the fifth straight year, the Missouri Southern Lions Women's Soccer squad has been honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award that recognizes excellence in the classroom.

This year, the Lions' team produced a grade-point average of 3.51. The NSCAA/adidas College Women's Team Academic Award was instituted in 1996. To qualify, a team must have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.

Success in the classroom has always been a top priority for seventh-year head coach Trevor Wachsman. Along with the five NSCAA Team Academic Awards, the Lions have produced 61 MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll honorees the past six seasons.
