Lions Soccer Ties St. Mary's 1-1

San Antonio, Texas -- After being down 1-0 just after halftime the Missouri Southern Lions Soccer (0-3-1) scored off a corner kick to tie the Rattlers of St. Mary's (2-0-1) 1-1 in Sunday action in San Antonio, Texas.

Sophomore goalie Abby Risner held St. Mary's scoreless in the first half recording three saves.

The Lions fell behind early in the second half as Leia Kirch capitalized on a bad bounce and scored an unassisted goal in the 47th minute to give St. Mary's a 1-0 lead.

Senior Shannon Kuhn headed in a corner kick from junior Corinne Tebbs in the 66th minute to tie the game at 1-1.  That is Kuhn's third goal of the season, she accounts for all three Southern goals so far.

Southern out shot the Rattlers 19-9 for the game and recorded eight corner kicks to St. Mary's one.

The Lions will be back in action Thursday September 15 as they host the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist Univeristy in a non-conference matchup at Hal Bodon Field.  Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
