Emporia, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern Lions Soccer team (1-7-1, 1-1-0 MIAA) evened up their MIAA record with a 2-1 win over the Emporia State Hornets (1-4-4, 0-1-0 MIAA) on Sunday in Emporia, Kan.
Emporia State's Catie Hyde scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
Junior forward Megan Stueve would then tie the match at 1-1 in the 32nd minute scoring her second goal of the season for the Lions after the ball had bounced around in the ESU box before Stueve would nail the ball into the lower right corner.
Sophomore forward Kelly White would then give the Green & Gold the lead at 2-1 with just a littler under three minutes before the half. White headed in a shot by senior Alicia Vonderheid that was popped up.
The Lions will be back in action Thursday October 6th as they head to Southwest Baptist for a MIAA match with the kick off slated for 4pm.
