Jennies tame Lions Soccer, 6-1
Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team (15-1, 7-0 MIAA) out scored the Missouri Southern Lions (5-9-1, 5-2 MIAA) 6-1 in Warrensburg, Missouri Saturday night.
Central struck first scoring in the 17th minute on an unassisted goal by Becky Lackey. The Jennies would strike three more times before Southern sophomore Dana Wilhelm had the lone Southern goal coming in the 36th minute.
Sophomore goalkepper Abby Risner allowed two goals and saved three Central Missouri shots in the second half. The Lions were out shot 6-1 in the second half and 16-4 for the match.
Missouri Southern will return back to action on Thursday October 27 as they host the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats in the final home MIAA match. Kickoff is slated for 6pm at Hal Bodon Field. The Lions will celebrate their eight seniors on Sunday October 30 with a noon game against future MIAA member Lindenwood at Hal Bodon Field.
