Lions soccer falls 1-0 at Central Oklahoma

Joplin, Mo.- The Missouri Southern Lions soccer team fell 1-0 this afternoon in Edmond, Okla. to the #10 ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos.

Played under brezzy, cool conditions, the Lions were able to put together 11 shots on the day, including 7 on goal at UCO goalie Megan Burke.  Unable to find the back of the net though, the Lions were led by senior forward Megan Stueve who recorded four shots on the day, including three on goal.

Playing great defense, the Bronchos were only able to fire off five shots, including only one shot on goal. Unfortunately that one shot turned out to be the difference in the ballgame. The Bronchos got the lone goal of the afternoon in the 28th minute when Kate Foran scored for UCO.

The Lions return to MIAA action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they travel to Tahlequah, OK to take on the Northeastern State Riverhawks at DeLoache Field.
