Kirksville, Mo.- The Missouri Southern Lions soccer team fell this afternoon at Truman 2-0. The lose snaps the Lions two-game winning streak as the Lions fall to 2-6-1 overall on the year, while dropping to 2-3 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs wasted little time getting on the board as they scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute. Despite being outshot 8-2 in the first half, the Lions were able to keep the game close only trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Trying to get something going offensively, the Lions fired off eight shots in the second half. With junior forward Tiffany Laughlin accounting for three of them, the Lions were unable to find the back of the net on the day. The Bulldogs tagged on another goal in the 68th minute to make the final 2-0.
The Lions return to MIAA action Sunday afternoon when they travel to St. Charles to take on Lindenwood. Kickoff with the Lady Lions is slated for 2 p.m. at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.
