Lions women qualify ten for NCAA Indoor Nationals
Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team has qualified ten individuals for the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 12-13.
Kimi Shank qualified in two different events as she ranks fourth nationally in the 5k and will also serve as a member of the Southern Distance Medley Relay team that ranks 8th nationally.
Joining Shank on the DMR will be Ashley Bunch, Cyarra Prince, Carita Riutta and Courtney Waltbillig.
Emilie Mieseler, fresh off of a MIAA record heave in the weight throw ranks fourth in the event. Ciara Lipsey ranks seventh and has qualified for the pole vault, while Lisa Vengels has qualified for her first nationals appearance, ranking 10th nationally in the high jump.
Channell Lloyd qualifies for her second nationals after competing in the 2009 outdoor championship and ranks seventh nationally in the triple jump, while Nicole Green ranks 11th in the shot put and qualifies for her first national championship.
The 2010 Nationals are being held in the Albuquerque Convention Center and is hosted by Adams State University.
