Women's Track debuts at No. 6 in first Division II Outdoor Rankings
New Orleans, La. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team has picked up the No. 6 spot in the first edition of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II National Rankings this week.
Southern fared extremely well at the Florida State Relays to open the season picking up five provisionals and an automatic mark, while also nailing down a provisional in the javelin at Arkansas that same weekend.
This past weekend at ESU, the Lions brought home another four provisionals.
The Lions are the top ranked team in the MIAA and are third highest in the region. Central Missouri is 11th, while future MIAA member Lincoln is 16th and Northwest Missouri is 18th.
The Lions will be back in action this weekend with the John McDonnell Invite at the University of Arkansas.
