Lions pick up four All-MIAA performances in day one at 2010 MIAA Track Championships

Pittsburg, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team picked up four All-MIAA honors in day one at the 2010 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Pittsburg State University. 

Kimi Shank won the 10k to earn All-MIAA status, while Ciara Lipsey was second in the pole vault, Emilie Mieseler was second in th hammer and Ashley Bunch was third in the 10k. Each were All-MIAA. 

Shank finished the 10k with an automatic time of 35:15.46, while Ashley Bunch was third with a provisional performance of her own. The top five times in the event broke the stadium record. 

Mieseler was second in the hammer with a heave of 177-01, while Nicole Green placed ninth. Lipsey went the same height as first place Katrina Biermann of Truman (12-05.5) but finished second on fewer misses. 

Channell Lloyd placed tenth in the long jump and then qualified second in the prelims of the 100m hurdles and fourth in the 400m hurdles. Cyarra Prince also qualified for the finals in the 400m hurdles, while Kelly McKay qualified in the 200 and Carita Riutta qualified in the 800. 

Central Missouri is first after day one and Pitt State is in second, followed by Northwest Missouri, Missouri Southern, Truman State, Fort Hays State, Emporia State, and Nebraska-Omaha.
