Warrensburg, Mo. -- Nicole Green won both the shot put and the weight throw and the Missouri Southern women's indoor track and field team placed third at the Central Missouri Invite today in Warrensburg.
Green picked up a provisional in the shot put with a distance of 46-6.75, while she won the weight throw with a distance of 51-02.25. Kylie Cornman placed fourth in the shot and seventh in the weight throw.
Lisa Vengels won the high jump with a provisional of 5-7.25, while Gayla Booth and Rachel Olinyk placed fourth and fifth in the event. Sydney Haase and Vanessa Langford were second and third in the pole vault with identical vaults of 10-6.
Vengels placed second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.32, while Alex Close was second in the 600 yard run at 1:32.47. Lindsey Bragg was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 16-4.5, while placing sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 34-5.50. Elizabeth Corcoran placed sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:05.34, while Tia Cook placed ninth in the 200m with a time of 28.33.
The Lions will be back at it next weekend with meets at Iowa State and Central Missouri.
