Lawrence, Kan. -- Kylie Cornman picked up a provisional and moved up the national list as the Missouri Southern women's track and field team competed at the Jayhawk Classic on the campus of the University of Kansas Friday.
Cornman was sixth in the shot put with a distance of 46-1.25, earning a provisional and moving up to 14th nationally. Sydney Potts won the 800m in a time of 2:18.74, narrowly missing a provisional.
Melanie Bower was 10th in the pole vault with a height of 11-7.75, while Sydney Haase was 13th in the same height. Ashleigh McFarland placed 23rd in the event. Lauren Baehr was fifth in the 3k with a time of 10:50.97, while Cassy Kendrick was 13th. Addie Mengwasser was 16th in the mile with a time of 5:32.83, while Amber White placed eighth in the 400m in a time of 1:00.38.
Miriah Johnson was 19th in the high jump, while Brittani Reagan and Mahogany Jones placed 15th and 17th in the triple jump. Emily Weldin was fourth in the 600 yard with a time of 1:30.48, while Whitney Hardy was seventh in the 1,000m and Jasmin Hughes placed 7th in the 200m, just missing a provisional by .02.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, playing host to the MSSU Lion Invite at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
