Women's track plays host to MSSU Lion Invite

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team will play host to the MSSU Lion Invite tomorrow and Saturday at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center. 

The meet will consist of a heptathlon and pentathlon in the first session on Friday beginning at 9 am. The field events for the meet will get underway at 2:30 pm, while the running events for Friday will begin at 5 pm. Day two will consist of the final three events of the men's heptathlon beginning at 9 am and the rest of the meet's final day starting at 10:30 am. 

Kaylee Morgan comes into the event ranked 12th in Division II in the long jump with a best of 18-6. Brittani Reagan is 21st in the long jump, while also ranking 19th in the triple jump. 

Melanie Bower leads a trio of Lions pole vaulters that rank in the top 32 of Division II in the event. Bower is 18th coming into the Invite with a best of 11-11.75, while Sydney Haase is 26th and Ashleigh McFarland ranks 32nd. 

Jackie Wallace ranks 33rd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.95, while Kylie Cornman ranks 15th in the shot put.
