Women's track has three provisionals in day one of Lion Invite
Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team had three provisionals in day one of the 2014 MSSU Lion Invite today inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Brittani Reagan picked up a provisional in the long jump, placing third with a height of 5.56 meters. Kaylee Morgan was fourth, while Amber White, Shelby Newell, Emily Paullus and Taitum Mead placed 8th, 11th, 13th and 14th.
Kylie Cornman placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 17.46m, earning a provisional in the process. The DMR team of Kindra Emberton, White, Sydney Potts and Emily Harris picked up a provisional and placed second with a time of 12:06.54, while Jasmin Hughes missed out on qualifying in both the 60m and finished with a time of 26.50 to finish 11th in the 200m.
Kaitlyn Belisle won the 5k in a time of 18:00.55, while Cassy Kendrick and Lizzy Kirby placed 4th and 8th. In the 60m hurdles, Jackie Wallace qualified for the finals, while Mead and Paullus placed 9th and 10th.
In the pentathlon Kaylee Morgan finished eighth with 3,134 points, while Taylor Alumbaugh was 20th with 2,474 points.
The Lions will finish up the meet tomorrow morning with action beginning at 9 am.
