Lions fall in straight sets to Missouri Western
Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team fell in three sets to visiting Missouri Western tonight. Individual set scores were 13-25, 21-25, and 12-25.
Southern (4-16, 2-6 MIAA) was led offensively by Casey Ball as the freshman tallied a match-high 10 kills. Sydney Potts had five kills, 20 assists and anothre five digs, while Rocky Crook had a match-high 13 digs.
Western (10-11, 3-5 MIAA) was led by Alexandra Behnke's 10 kills and a .692 attack average. Stephanie Hattey dished out 35 assists and Tahler Johnston had 10 digs. The Griffons hit .337 as a team as opposed to the Lions' .065.
Southern will be back in action this weeekend, traveling to Truman on Friday and then playing at Northwest Missouri on Saturday.
