Lions drop opening games at CSU-Pueblo Classic

Pueblo, Colo. - The Missouri Southern volleyball team dropped its opening two matches today at the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves Classic, falling 3-0 to both New Haven and the host CSU-Pueblo. 

In the first match, the Lions (0-6) were led by Katie Politte as the sophomore had ten kills, and five digs. Abby Finder dished out 24 assists and added seven digs, while Sydney Potts had a match-high nine digs. 

The Lions, as a team, out dug New Haven (1-0) 31-30, but 13 service errors and 24 attack errors sealed their fate. 

In the second match of the day, Politte again had ten kills, this time adding eight digs. Finder had 26 assists with seven digs, while Potts had a match-high 13 digs. Danielle Severns had eight kills, as well. 

Southern will be back in action tomorrow with matches against Adams State and Wayland Baptist.
