Volleyball loses, 3-0 at home to Lindenwood

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri southern volleyball team dropped a straight-set match at home tonight to visiting Lindenwood in Young Gymnasium. Individual set scores were 18-25, 16-25 and 21-25. 

The Lions (0-29, 0-17 MIAA) were led offensively from Aleisha Joyce as the senior had five kills and a .364 attack average. Katie Politte added eight kills, while Callie Whetstone had six of her own. Abby Finder had a team-high 13 assists, while Sydney Potts added 12. Danielle Severns had 12 digs. 

Lindenwood (15-15, 5-11 MIAA) was led by Kelsey Kennedy and Katie Weber with eight kills each. 

The Lions will finish out the regular season on Saturday evening as Southern plays host to Pittsburg State at 7 pm in the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center. The game will be for the Sonic Trophy point between the two schools and will serve as senior day for the two Lions seniors (Aleisha Joyce and Shakila Balkhi).
