Kevin Carey comes to Missouri Southern after two years as the head coach at Frontenac (Kan.) High School. Carey's responsibilities with the Lions will be to serve as the offensive line coach.
In two years with Frontenac, Carey took a team that went 2-10 and guided them to the Playoffs this season.
Carey played football at Southwestern State University finishing up his playing time in 1996 and was an offensive lineman for the Bulldogs. He has had stints at Ottawa (defensive line), Hastings (offensive line), Northgate and East Coweta High Schools (offensive coordinator), Cisco Junior College (defensive coordinator), Anadarko High School (defensive coordinator), Tuttle High School (defensive coordinator), and East Central University (linebackers). He served as the offensive line coach at Nicholls State under current Lions coach Jay Thomas, before taking the job at Frontenac.
Carey has a wife, Adrienne, and two sons Dalton (9) and Brennan (5).
