Coffey grew up in Webb City, MO and went on to graduate from Missouri Southern in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. While attending MSSU he worked in the athletics department doing marketing and in-game coordination for four years.

Upon graduation Coffey went on to intern with the Kansas City Chiefs in their sponsorship department and came back to Missouri Southern full-time at the conclusion of the internship.
