Larry was raised in Joplin, Missouri and is a graduate of the former Joplin Parkwood High School. He began his collegiate career at MSSU before joining the Navy. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications & Electronic Media at Missouri State University in 1992 & his Master's Degree in Sport Management at the University of Oklahoma in 1997. His sports experience includes stints as Public & Media Relations Director, Marketing & Game Day Operations, Director of Ticket Operations, Director of Fan Relations, Corporate Sales & Director of Promotions in both amateur & professional athletics for teams in the North American Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League & the Eastern Indoor Soccer League. While at the University of Oklahoma, Larry was the Assistant Game Day Operations Manager for the Sooner football, basketball, gymnastics & volleyball programs in 1996-97 and was the Game Day Operations & Event Manager for the Sooner baseball program in 1997.
Larry assists with MSSU's athletics social media campaigns, writes & voices the television ads for football, is the PA announcer for football & softball, writes the game day scripts for football, basketball & softball, creates the visual content for the LED scoring tables & JumboTron and conducts "Game Day" operations for basketball & volleyball.
He and his wife Pamela reside in Carl Junction. Their son, Tony Sfortunato, is a member of several of MSSU's bands, including the MSSU Pep & Marching Bands.
